Emerald Eyes

Robert was madly in love with her.  He had planned an elaborate proposal to take place that very evening.  Lillian was so beautiful he could hardly believe his good fortune to be with her.  He’d purchased a flawless emerald from Cartier that nearly matched her dazzling eyes.  They’d just finished a bottle of ’02 Cristal that was gloriously smooth, crisp and bubbly.  Both of them were little light-headed with romance.  And as Robert gazed dreamily into her eyes he said, “Lillian my love, there is something I want to ask you.”  Her eyes closed as her smile inhaled slowly and deeply as if the moment she had long-awaited was finally here.  Yet following a passionate kiss, she tilted her head and whispered into his ear, “Oh Julian…I have always loved you…….”
